Printable Watercolor Art- SANKETI PRINTS

Excited to announce the launch of SANKETI PRINTS, a shop dedicated to printable art!

I have been meaning to do this for a while now especially since I had been receiving a lot of requests for clip art and printable art, but was not sure if I was ready to let go of the control over quality of prints! I am very particular about the kind of paper and inks that I use to print my art for my Etsy shop and making art available as a digital download meant letting go of that control completely!

As much as I loved the fact that I could make my art more affordable and accessible ( since I do not ship international currently) I was a bit worried that my customers might print on super thin cardstock and not get the results that they had hoped for and blame the art /digital file instead!

But then after giving it a lot of thought, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot!

So, having said that, my second shop on ETSY is now OPEN for Business!
would love for you to check it out!

Still in it's infancy, I am trying my best to stock it up!

Both my Etsy Shops will be independent of each other and hence you will find unique art on each of them. My printable store will have a lot of my handlettering/modern calligraphy . Just download and print for personal use. I would recommend you use good thick matte paper for the best results!

Here are some that you might find in the shop...

Let me know if you want to see something in particular or would like me to add a lettered piece of your choice, and I will try my best to get it up for you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone!

Am so excited to be a part of a blog hop after so many years!

Time flies and it's been 3 years since I stepped down from design teams and  started my own art business which took me away from this lovely stamping community.

When May from Altenew mentioned that Altenew was introducing a watercolor set and wanted me to be  a part of their  watercolor release blog hop, it took me a couple of minutes to remember what a blog hop actually meant! I was rusty to say the least!

When I was ready to start working on my piece, I went looking for a stamp set to get me started and the minute I saw the Arabesque Medallion stamp set, I knew right then that it would be perfect for my project!

A recent vacation to Spain had left me mesmerized and I was eager to  paint the lovely tile work that I saw all over Seville, Spain, especially at the Plaza De Espana and Alcazar, Seville . The Altenew stamp set reminded me of those tiles and their Moorish influence. I thought the large medallion stamp  would be a perfect jumping off point for my tile art.

Here are some of my pictures from Spain and the source of my inspiration.

Can you spot the missing dot of color in the picture below?

I tried to incorporate that little bit of inconsistency in my painting too!

The tile collection at the museum..
...I,.much to my husbands chagrin, spent most of my time here, !

Here you can see them on a bench.....dare I sit on it!

And then, I spotted this lovely shop which was selling old tiles, some restored and  some antique from torn down buildings. I wanted to get some, before my husband drilled some sense in me and warned about luggage! Seville was our first stop on a long list of places to see, and we were yet to drag our luggage through the rest of Spain!
..sigh! I gaze at these pictures instead of the real tiles! still wish I had got some! .... at lease one!

Aren't these stunning!

And now here is my version ..

                                                             "The Tiles Of Seville"
                                                          Watercolor on Paper- 20"x20"

I have used the brand new Altenew watercolors for this piece. I loved them! The colors are so vivid and bright and were perfect for this piece.

I tried my best to make subtle value changes to give it that look of old tiles. I might give it a wash of diluted tea and stain it a bit.

Here is another piece that I painted using just the watercolors minus the stamps. I embellished it with some gold foil .

Painted on handmade paper-rough

Here is a little bit of info about these watercolors...

Watercolor Month of The Year Collection

Excited to share my new collection-

"The Watercolor Month of the Year collection'.

I love how this collection actually came about! I was asked by a friend if I could pair my loose and expressive floral art with the month of June since it was her moms first name and birthday, which then led to another one with April and May, since I had already done three, I decided to go ahead and complete all 12, since I definitely needed a December for myself! lol!

So here we go..a quick look at the entire collection..
These are available in my shop on ETSY

Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!

Bits and Bobs

I was missing my blog and remembering those days when I would share a post almost everyday!. Now months go by before I can write a post!

So, today I thought I will give you a quick update of what's going on in my neck of the woods!

Let me begin with all the hand lettering that I have been doing lately, I joined the #The100dayproject on Instagram and decided that 100 days was a good way to practice my lettering . If you are on instagram, you can find my work using the hashtag #100daysofsanketilettering .

Also, I decided to put my sketchbooks to better use and fill each one of them on a regular basis and am taking part in an event called 'The sketchbook revival ' you can find this too on IG.

I have been working feverishly on getting my Etsy shop stocked with 'Mother's Day' cards and prints. Lat year I had lots of originals, but this year I have introduced a new print collection in 2 styles , one with just handlettered 'mom' and another set with "Happy Mothers Day' .

And now for a little bit on my attempts to make short timelapse videos for IG and YT. I finally got around to getting some equipment to hold my phone and filmed a couple of timelapse videos. After a couple of trials and many more errors, I was able to get one decent video! not bad for a day's worth of filming!! lol!

Here its is! I filmed it in nice bright natural light, yet the final result looks like ..oh well!

Here are some of the other cards from the ' Mother's Day' collection

I guess that will be all for now and I sincerely hope to post more often!

Have a great weekend!
