So how are all my US friends doing.....tummy still full? wondering what to do with the leftovers? lol!
......hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

It was  a quiet and peaceful holiday for shopping ...just caught up on reading, painting and spending some quality time at home.

Here is a card I made using Crafter's Companion - Moonbeam Meadow Christmas-Magical star. I stamped the image and masked it using masking fluid. Then applied watercolors to the background. Once dry, I peeled the masking and colored the image using Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils. Also added a bit of stickles for some glittery sparkle.

 Stamps =Moonbeam Meadow.

Papertrey November Blog Hop Challenge

After a very long time, am playing along Papertrey Ink Nov Blog hop! Until last year, this used to be on the top of my 'arty' to do list ..and than I got busy with DT schedules and would invariably forget the date!

But not today....I had put a reminder on my phone this month and here is my card for this month's theme-Snow.

I have used Papertrey Ink stamps- City Scene and Stylish sentiments- holiday . I stamped the Big Ben on wet paper and immediately went around it with a damp brush to soften the edges. Once dry I stamped the inner layer and sketched the trees.

Here is a closer look at the snow splattering.....

.... off to hop now...

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week ahead!

Watercolor - poinsettia - video

Happy Friday friends!

A couple of weeks back, I was commissioned to do some artwork....awesome! I had to paint poinsettias..hmnnn.....not so awesome!
.....I had never painted these before, but since am always up for a challenge... I took it up!

The first step was to spend some quality time with my sketchbook instead of my husband! After a few disappointing tries, I finally made it !  Since I paint extremely wet..maintaining the form of the poinsettia without  loosing the shape of the leaves was the most difficult part of this painting....but practice always gets you there.

I tried this using different shapes, but my favorite was this square shape and the circle. You can use 'post it' notes to mask and I believe you get them in sheets too...I got to know about that after I was done. But I think that would make this really easy ..just punch or die cut the shape and you have a mask ready!

 Here is the video..

 Watch on YouTube In HD

This is really easy to do freehand, but if you are not comfortable, you could use a poinsettia stamp and go from there... which ever way you choose..please give this one a try ..paint some poinsettias for your family and friends this Christmas!

Thanks for joining me today..have a wonderful weekend!

These dull grey days are making it extremely difficult for me to photograph my work...not that my photography skills are something to write home about .. I just know the basics, but I think it's time to get some help from the pro..aka ..husband.. he is our in house photographer!

That's it for now ..will be back later this week with a video!

Trust your soul

Hello friends!
..been MIA for a week...sigh!

I know the blog seems so quiet...well!
......been busy with DT projects but just not had the time to post them here!

Here is one I did for Unity using their current SMAK kit-Trust Your Soul. I wanted to give that minimalistic, abstract look to  the piece and decided to add just a hint of color. There are some lovely images in this kit and I feel there is something there for everyone...a card maker, scrapbooker, or a mixed media lover!

Sharing with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- anything goes

That's all from me for now...enjoy your weekend!
