Today I was going through some older pictures and found this and realized I had not posted this lovely bird as yet....so here we go.....

Today Unity has some  fabulous new releases..Phyllis Harris Christmas images! I could not wait to share these with you. If you love coloring as much as I do then you HAVE to get these!

These images are so beautiful and large that they make a wonderful focal point. All you need to do is sit with your favorite coloring medium. I chose watercolors..of course!

Hello everyone, am back with a Crafter's companion share today. I have used an image from their new release Moonbeam Meadow- Christmas- Rudolph and friends.

 This entire collection has some really lovely images! I chose this one today and have another one coming up very soon. The main image has been colored using Spectrum Noir markers and the background has been done using watercolors.

Brambly Hedge

 Happy Sunday!

I have a Crafter's Companion card to share today...love this adorable image! It's from their new release Brambly Hedge collection-The High Hills.  I really love this entire collection, lots of 'cutesy' images which are fun to color!

The image has been colored using Spectrum Noir Colored pencils . Parts of it have been washed with watercolor  ..like the black wash of color under the window but the rest are colored pencils.  My favorite way of using both these medium together is to lay a wash first and then going over it with colored pencils. I do the same when I use Spectrum Noir markers too. It enhances the coloring and gives some brilliant depth.The background is distress ink-Walnut stain.

Warm and Cozy

 A new week is here and it brings us closer to the holidays! I have started working on my holiday cards and this one joins the pile!

I have used a stamp by Unity from their Stamp Of The Week collection- Warm and Cozy. I love the scale of this stamp, it's perfectly sized and a pleasure to color!

I sketched a fireplace and hung the stockings to give it a warm and cozy holiday feel..

Happy Friday friends!

Today, I have a more artsy project with a video for you. I have used a stamp, of course, but given the overall work a more painterly feel to it.

   
                                             matted in 8x10 

Here is the picture before it was matted...You can see I drew a faint outline of the mat just so that I could work within that and not loose any of the work once it was matted.

The window and sentiment stamps are from Clearly Besotted-window dressing.

.... and here it is framed... I have used a museum mat for the final framing. I love how this puts the painting in complete focus.

Buttons

 Buttons and bows anyone?

The current challenge over at Crafter's Companion is calling for bows and buttons ...it's a fun challenge and here is a link if you want to join in.

Would you believe if I said I have no craft buttons whatsoever! The only ones I have are those that come  extra with dresses and shirts!
.....did I hear a thud...panic from all you hardcore button lovers!

 But since I was very close to the DT deadline, I had to make do with what I had and that was watercolors! So I sketched some circles and painted me some buttons! 

The doily is a die by Crafter's Companion.
