July has almost come to a close and I have already started with my holiday cards!

This year has flown by and seems like it was just yesterday that  I was waiting for spring to roll by and now it's already summer... nearing Fall..seasons seem to be rushing and soon it will be cold and time for the holidays!

So I guess I better enjoy my flowers before they wilt and droop and dry ..especially the sunflowers in my garden. This year again, the birds gifted us some really pretty, large yellow sunflowers.

For today's card, I stamped the sunflowers  by Crafter's Companion using distress inks and went over them with a damp brush.

I love to travel and I still have lots and lots of places  on my bucket list !
...and places I have been to stay in my memory for a very long time...I often go on this nostalgic memory lane trips!

I visited the Taj Mahal in India when I was very little but I still remember the beautiful pure white marble and the intricate inlay work inside The Taj. Sadly, I have heard over the years the marble has lost it's purity and lustre due to the pollution and soot in the area and I believe they are trying to restore it ...hope it gets back it's original beauty though!

When I saw this stamp by Crafter's Companion , I simply had to have it. It's a lovely set of stamps.

I stamped the image using Jet black Stazon, since I wanted it to stand out and was aiming for a pen and ink illustration kind of a look.

The little things...

Had some fun with colored pencils this morning!
..everytime  I use this medium, I am transported back in time.. when I got my first set of pencils which I kept inside my desk  in it's original packaging be seen and enjoyed from far only...not to be used..ever.... for fear of it getting 'over'!

It was a set of 24 by Colleen ( does that brand even exist now?) I think I kept it that way for over 2 years and then I received another smaller set of Faber Castell's as a birthday gift and then that went into 'cold storage' and the Colleen set was finally brought out and put to some real good use!

I still have this set and today I decided to take a picture and put it here..looks like my favorite color was has been sharpened to the end!

I think there was a time when my brother put his claim over it since it had a picture of a cockpit on the cover and he was and is crazy about flying and anything to do with planes! But looks like I used my standard trick of getting it back from him...go to dad and tell on him! ..tears almost always helped too and here it is still with me after sooo many years!

Today I have all these artist quality pencils sitting on my desk, but this first one will always be special.

So coming back to my card for today, I have used Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils and stamps by Crafter's Companion.

Watercolor-negative painting - video

The blog has been really quiet for the past week!
.....I was on vacation and away from all things digital!

We drove to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan..Mackinac Island.  I did nothing but sat and stared at the soft waves of was so calming and relaxing and for once I don't need a vacation after a vacation!

And as Monday morning rolled around, I forced myself out of that sleepy vacation mode and 'tried' to get back into the creative mode and this is what I came up with....a video showing you how I approach 'negative painting', but trust me, there is nothing negative about's all positive and fun!

Here is the video...
