Vintage

Today I hesitated from writing anything  and thought I would just post my card and link  it and get out of here...
.......why? you may ask...
..........cause I have something very big to share , in fact not one but two very important things to share, and trust me it is huge ....BUT... I have been sworn to secrecy and although I have been trusted in the past  to keep family secrets, I am not too sure if I will  able to hold up that well when it comes to  my crafty world!
So I thought since mum's the word, let me go totally mum and let my work speak for itself. But then I thought of giving  my readers just  a tiny bit of a teaser ..lol!

Coming back to today's card, it was inspired by the latest picture over at the Runway Inspired Challenge.

Usually I  aim for a literal translation of the picture, but this time around I deviated and took a totally different approach . I just took the basic colors pink/fuschia, creams, browns and the feel of the picture and went from there.

I thought the photo conveyed a lovely vintage feel with the suitcases and the model's dress, so I thought of going with that look and aimed for an old antique looking postcard . Something a grandma would have saved in her little box of jewelry! In fact I have one like that which has gone yellow and brown and has torn at the edges over time.  I love these kind of things which have a story to them!

I stamped the rose by Jane's doodles and colored it using Inktense pencils and Faber Castell Stampers Big Brush pen. Then colored the background using watercolors. Stamped the sentiment in black and also did some generational stamping with it. Inked an acrylic block to create those black marks across the front.

Distressed the edges and inked it using Walnut Stain Distres ink

 Thanks for stopping by today.

  2. What, now you have TWO secrets? Hmmm, I am anxious to hear : ) Like your non-literal interpretation here. I've started seeing those inktense pencils around more and more.
