As I was sorting and organising my studio last week , I decided to go through my fabrics and air them a bit. As I sat to refold all these beautiful yards of fine linen, fat quarters and lace, I came across this pretty floral fabric filled with roses and leaves, I was instantly transported to the Amish Country, to a small boutique in a quaint little picturesque town ... a sweet lady, who proudly showed me around the store and helped me pick fabric. This particular yard of fine cotton , I had purchased to make a dress for my niece, which of course never got done!
........instead I thought it was time to translate it into a card...........
To achieve the watercolor hand painted effect , I stamped the roses and leaves in grey and then colored in using Copics RV13 and R35..shocking right..for serious Copic certified masters, that might be a big faux pas!....but I was aiming for a shaded rose , so it just worked for me.
love the way a tiny bit of Glossy Accents for the water droplets just adds that little something extra to the roses.
A closer look - by stamping using grey ink, you can barely see the lines, ideal for that hand painted look.
