The colors were inspired by the Play Date Cafe # 147
I have tried to use 5 different design principles -
focal point with the bird , leaves and the sentiment in the' Sweet Spot'....,
movement with the leaves angled , I feel the eye starts with left side of card since the bird is looking that way and then you follow the leaves to the right and out of the card.....
repetition with the sentiment stamped in a lighter grey on the background and the bird and the 3 grey branch die cuts
and the asymmetry principle
I guess it fits the Gallon- pink , Quart - grey and Pint- greens, design element but I was not too sure!...might have pushed it too far!...(edited..... after kelly left me a wonderful comment ..I have gone ahead and shared with that challenge too.)
Did I achieve it ? you tell me!
also sharing with The Moxie Fab World- Focal point challenge

Thanks so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp challenge.
Ooooh, just saw your card. I did the same thing, for this challenge too, with trying to combine a bunch of the different design principles from Moxie Fab World. I think you actually have a fifth design principle here too ... asymmetry, right? I totally followed your principles (even the movement one, which I think is the hardest). For the gallon/quart/pint one, I might even say your pink is the gallon color since the whole background is pink and just the edges/branches/medallion are grey. don't know. And I LOVE how you stamped right on top of the diecut branches! I haven't seen that before. Will have to keep it in mind. It really makes the branches more of a background and less of a design element like diecuts usually are. Love it!
ReplyDeleteKelly thanks for taking the time to comment ..it means a lot to me and I truly appreciate it!.
DeleteI think you are right with the gallon color and might go back and edit my post and about the asymmetry ..now that you mention it and I am looking at the card ..yes you are right and I might link it up there. thanks!
just brilliant, seems so simple but but close up so complex. I love the diversity of your design/colour and flow> you are very talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind comment!
