Fill this day with joy!

I admit....
...... despite the longer brighter days, chirping birds and the wonderful blooms in my yard, I simply cannot take the 100 degree heat that Summer brings along with it , it leaves me longing for beautiful colorful  Fall  and cooler, more my  kind of weather!

Summer heat makes me want to stay indoors and if I have to stay indoors , it might as well be Winter!
Of course the silver lining  would be that I get to craft more!

So in the hope that I survive this heat and get to see the pretty leaves in Fall, I made this card for me, yup me remind me to enjoy today too!..
....but of course  the colorful maple leaves of Autumn had to be a part of the reminder!!!!!!

The colors are from Play Date Cafe#138

Supplies: Cardstock- Bazzill,  Memory box twiggy tree die, leaf punch- Studio G, Stamps -PTI

Exciting news!

I am so giddy with excitement today!!!!!!
I am  guest designing  for Do You Stack UP  this week !!!!

A couple of weeks back , my card was handpicked and I was chosen  to be a guest designer  for this weeks challenge...... I was shocked and in awe to say the least!

Thank you DYSU for the oppurtunity and Ren-Yi for your patience!

Now coming to the challenge itself , the theme is Inspired By a Movie  and I chose my all time favorite Herbie-the love bug and used a digital image by Tiddly Inks..they have a wonderful selection and is very easy to download their images.

Here is my card....

some Copic coloring here......

used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and a sentiment by The Crafts Meow.

Take Flight!

This week we were challenged by PTI - MIM#70  to create something with  puffed fabric accents, and the video by Erin was truly inspiring and  looked so easy , but truth be told , I did struggle with this one a bit , perhaps because I did not have fun foam nor nested dies  on hand . So to improvise I had to use my quilting poly fill  and dies from the PTI framed out set.

Unfortunately , despite my best efforts , I could not capture the puffiness as well as they are captured under our eyes!!

Supplies: Stamps and Dies -PTI

Even though it falls short on the card front , one good thing that came out of all the experimenting I did with this card was , I could use Framed Out die to cut a wonderful square for window cards, and need not invest in another square punch !!!

Thanks Dad!

Today's card is a result of a request I received to make a  Father's Day card with the silhouette  I used in this card here, and since I had used houndstooth patterned paper on my earlier card , I repeated that but changed the overall  design of the  card.

This weeks Runway Inspired Challenge #13  had an inspiring picture from The House Of Holland featuring Houndstooth as the focal point, I am sharing this card with RIC

I kept the Houndstooth pattern as my focal point too and used the starburst dry embossing to pull the eye toward the rest of the sentiments.

Watching  the  diamond jubilee celebrations  in honor  of the Queen's coronation prompted me to make this card using the traditional colors of red, white and blue .
I used a damask image which reminded me of the crest on the gates of Buckingham Palace!

A note of thanks!

Another  card using another sketch from the PTI -Make It Monday # 69,

I was not only inspired by the sketch , but also the colors from the here it is ....

After many years , I created a design that reminded me of my Textile Design days, when I used to design fabric, using  poster paints and India ink, and feel so happy seeing my patterns on fabric!

I chose  a striped patterned paper which had a  textured linen look to it to compliment my florals,  and some rhinestones for some bling and used Copics for the shaded background.

A simple sentiment elegantly styled by PTI completes the card.
