How fun it is to be an unassuming, carefree child !
.... yesterday , I saw some children drawing and sketching and playing around with their colors without giving them a second thought, they were just carelessly pulling their markers and crayons and just applying them to paper ,..not painting not coloring ..just applying to their heart's content. I am sure they had no design nor rules in their mind , they were simply having good fun with color.
when I got home , I thought to myself , how nice it would be if I could do the same for a change, be a child again and just apply some color onto some paper without worrying about the rule of thirds, color wheel, or for that matter even shape or size!
So I sat at my desk and pulled out some of my favorite watercolors and went to town with them...of course being the control freak that I am , I had to bring about some sort of order into my work so I gave my paper a simple wash of green and applied some orange watercolor marker to my stamp , spritzed some water and stamped, the rest...the stem , leave hillock and houses were loosely drawn by hand , I also used a wet brush and splattered some paint onto the paper, stamped a sentiment as a stem for the bloom and lastly added glossy accents to give it a wet look.

When I showed my husband , he immediately said , it is not your usual , it is very childish!!!!..and honestly I was thrilled , thrilled that I was able to achieve what I actually set out to do...but it was hard to say the least, to draw sloppily and not pay too much attention to detail.
supplies: Watercolor paper, watercolor paints- Winsor &Newton, Stamps- PTI, watercolor markers- Le Plume II, Glossy Accents
In the end , all I can say is...... it is very hard to be a child again!
I have way too many inhibitions , rules and preconceived ideas about what is right and wrong to be a child again!
at least I tried!!
