Decorate my life - Unity Blog Hop

Hi there..welcome back to another inspiration Thursday....it's time to hop with the Unity girls!

Today we have a wonderful new release...this sweet little guy !  I gave him a cold snowy background since he was so well layered and all warm and toasty! It feels so nice to be painting wintery scenes again!

After watercoloring the image, I applied some glittery stickles and glossy accents to the heart. For the background, I applied an extremely wet wash of blue/black and sprinkled some salt while it was still wet to get that mottled effect. once everything was dry, I splattered some white paint over the entire picture.

This stamp is part of a promotion this weekend..a shirt and a stamp!

We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Happy Hopping!

Wedding Day

Today's card is a feather in my creative cap!

I have always loved the look of embossing especially the ones where dies are used, not only does it stretch our dies a bit further, it gives the final product a beautiful letterpressed look and who does not love letterpress!

But........ but.....my attempts in the past to achieve this beautiful look have always been a disaster! The dies almost always just cut through the paper, despite using all the shims and embossing pads! But this time around I was determined...I simply had to get this thing right...."it's not rocket science"-I told myself ....... and all the wonderful work I had seen around the blog world made me want to just get it right.

..and so I tried and tried..until I had a 'eureka' moment ....Yayyyyy!

I have used Crafter's Companion's new Die'sire decorative dies -  circle doilies. They cut like butter but emboss even better.  Also used a stamp by CC from the Crisalis Classics- Wedding Day set.

Here is a closer look at the embossing....oh... am so proud of it...heheee!

We are having a birthday week celebration over at CC, so don't forget to stop by the Crafter's Companion Facebook page for week long fun!

Back to school

Have you heard of the new Dies by Crafter's Companion ..Die'sire dies .. I love them!
They are wafer thin and cut through paper like knife through butter! Here I have used Scalloped tags and stamped an image from the Paintbox Poppets stamp set.

I have used Spectrum Noir markers to color the image . I kept it simple and added just a hint of color. The paper is shimmering cardstock by Crafter's Companion-black pearl.

Tulips- video

The best part of blogging are the friends I have made here....if my posts start getting far and few, it gets noticed by my sweet friends...so to begin with I am sorry for disappearing without notice!

For the last two weeks I have been taking it easy and spending time with family.....hence the quietness !

The blog will be back on track by next week.

But I do have a video which I had done a while back but forgotten to share..so here we go..Enjoy!

Watch on You Tube

I was on a roll and I painted two cards . The difference can be seen in the placement of the sentiment.

Stamps-Clearly Besotted-Spring Blooms, PTI-sentiment
