Letterpress Stationary

I love the look of letterpress, it always takes ordinary stationary to the next level .... add a touch of gold and you have something you might find at a high end boutique!

These are so easy to make at home, I guess I should warn you these are addictive, once you start..hard to stop.. almost like chocolates!

For a complete list of supplies and stepped out pictures stop by the Niji blog.

Edited : Looks like I was not too clear about the Letterpress part of the post, so here is some info about the Letterpress kit I used...it's the L letterpress kit by lifestyle crafts. I have the starter kit which comes with the platform, ink and some plates. I do not have the Epic 6 machine, but Big Shot works equally well with the platform. The thank you sentiment was part of the starter kit . Here is a link to a blog I found which has lots of info about how to use this kit . Hope that helps.

Also some earlier posts  where I have used this kit and  some other pressing plates...here and here

Kindness..

Papertrey Ink's current Make it Monday#153  is about watercoloring and when watercolor and challenge are mentioned together ..I got to play !

I have used the ombre technique before.. here, here and here ...some I have embossed and washed over and some stamped a sentiment over the wash, either way they always look good. Today I thought of revisiting the embossed version shown by Dawn McVey. She  has a lovely video on background wash and embossed sentiments  and here is my take..I applied a wash over the embossed sentiments and once that was dry,  stamped the florals for some added interest.

Stamps- PTI-Year of flowers, Meadow Greens .

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great week ahead!

Forever Friends

A quick and simple card today using some lovely stamps by Crafter's Companion . It's been colored with Spectrum Noir markers with a hint of watercolor for the background.

Recently, I got accredited by Spectrum Noir and you can see the lovely colorist blinkie on the side bar of my blog! It was easy to practice with the wonderful tutorials provided by SN. If you are considering taking the test , then you should definitely check out all the wonderful downloads and tutorials over at Spectrum Noir. If I can do it then you can too..the last time I gave a test was for my Master's degree and that, I must tell you that was a loonng time ago..! To say I was nervous would be an understatement!. I kept all ten fingers and toes crossed and kept checking my mail ..until I saw "Congratu.....",.in my inbox! It was  easy and fun and I learned a lot!

Lilies

... second post for today, for my Crafter's Companion post scroll down or click here-Magnolia.

Yesterday as I stood by the window overlooking our garden, I could not but remember how it used to be filled with bright yellow day lilies all summer long!

The winter this year has dumped so much snow, I have barely seen the ground in the last couple of months! Dark grey days like these truly inspire me to paint something bright and cheery and colorful.

Here are some lilies for you...

Stop by the Niji Blog for stepped out pictures and a supply list .

Spring is right around the corner and very soon these lilies will be blooming, until then let's paint some!

Magnolia

Hello everyone!
..as we go through a harsh, cold winter, I am perking myself up with  flowers that remind me of Spring. I have a lovely fragrant sweet magnolia for you!

The last time I shared some with you all, they were purple/pink, but this time I went with the more commonly found white. The Magnolia is by Crafter's Companion -Sheena's A little bit floral- Magnolia set. It was colored using watercolors .

Love

Sharing a card I made for the PTI anniversary celebrations.
........a card with a large word as the focal point.

Have used PTI - Sending my love set for the sentiment and the tiny roses are from The Sweet Life set. I die cut the large ' Love' from pink patterned paper and overlaid it  on the sentiment.

Hold onto one another....

Joining PTI Anniversary celebrations-timer challenge . We have 7 mins to grab 7 supplies and create a card in 17 mins..ufff..typing that is making me nervous!
......nope... I can do it.. .I can do it..I can.... !

Ok so I grabbed my PTI -year of flowers collection and Fancy Folk art set, brush, watercolors, paper and ink. Stamped and colored and stamped sentiment ..done in a total of 14 mins and 22 secs.

In fact it was done around 11 mins but  it took me 3 mins just to dry it since I did not get my heat tool out in the allotted 7 mins! So had to hold it in my hands and  frantically wave ! Good thing I started from the right and moved to the left , so it was dry enough to stamp the sentiment. It was fun though!
