Yasutomo Niji- A Splash Ink giveaway

 Blown Ink!
...sounds interesting doesn't it?

I guess we have all tried this technique long before it was even called a technique! Haven't we all blown watercolors through a straw as kids. I used to do it all the time and really enjoyed coming up with new forms and shapes. Lately it's becoming extremely popular in abstract art . Sometime back I had tried this with watercolors and created a tree..here is a link. Today, I thought of trying this with Splash Inks.

I have a stepped out tutorial over at the Niji blog today..chek it out!

Also, I am having a giveaway and the prize is a set of Splash Inks!
..these acrylic inks come in a set of 4 and can be mixed to create a huge range of colors. Here is a link if you would like to know more about them.

  1. I have tried this with re-inkers it is so much fun. Are the splash inks thicker than a stamp pad re-inker.
    Love your art. Vicki C

  3. Lovely bright artwork - it looks like a lot of fun! I have liked both Facebook pages and am following you by email - I also have your blog on my favourites on my own blog sidebar. I'd love to win some Splash inks - I've just ordered a Gelli plate and see that they are compatable to use with those. Also I am attending evening classes for drawing and painting - we have mostly used watercolours so far, but we're going to be trying out different mediums this term. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

  8. I'm betting you think we ALL could blow a tree like yours, but I have a stack of glossy paper on which I blew ink until I was blue in the face, and the ink acted like a 3 year old having a tantrum. But that was last year, and I'm going to try again, because last year you blew the best of all trees I've ever seen on any card, and I'm loving these flowers this year. I think going for flowers might be easier than the tree.

    Thanks for sharing your talent,
    Bahb

  9. I would love to win this. I saw them at a store and haven't made up my mind to buy them yet. If I won, then I can use them immediately. I love your example. I am still trying to master your watercoloring technique.

  12. Hi Sanketi, liked both the FB pages and following you too :)
saw your earlier posts too with splash colors and was inspired enough to buy a set of drawing inks locally available and experimenting with them, will share some multi-media works I did on my blog soon. I am using thick card stock taped over a newspaper ( thought it will absorb extra moisture) but my paper warps , anything you can suggest,
and .......thanks for a chance to win these awesome inks !!!
