Papertrey Ink February 2013 Blog Hop

It's the 25th and it's time for Papertrey Ink Blog hop and this month it's all about Monograms .

I was aiming for a note paper kind of stationary look, used for some quick and simple notes, the kind I used to use a lot, back in college when we could buy these by the pad and were less expensive than a regular card.
The inspiration picture had me going in all directions, before I finally settled for some handpainted tulips to go with my monogrammed note card. I was inspired by the tulips on the table,  sitting so pretty in the corner of the picture.( the top left place setting)

Got to go hop...thanks for stopping by today.

Love..

Before I get on with today's card, I want to thank every single one of you who took the time to leave such kind and encouraging comments here, as well as over at Moxie Fab World for the Moxie Fabber post...
..and a huge warm welcome to my new readers,..hope you find my blog interesting enough to stay a while!
THANK YOU!

Now coming back  to today's post , it's a card for 10 min Craft Dash. As much as I love playing along this challenge, it literally leaves me breathless by the end of it...I simply cannot handle the timer ticking away and spend more time looking at the phone rather than the project on hand!

Anyway this time around I chose a project with less coloring , hoping to finish under 7 mins, but in the end it took me all of 9 mins 12 secs.

Moxie Fabber Of The Week!

Just could not wait for this weekend to be over and trust me that does not happen too often in my world!
..But of course this Monday was going to be different ......

When  Cath Edvalson, Trends Editor for Paper Crafts Magazine at Moxie Fab World emailed me a while back asking if I would like to be a part of this feature, I was shocked !
I wondered and asked myself ...why me?
...I have been around the blogging scene for just about a year now, have few loyal readers and recently been published in a couple of magazines and of course I love watercolors....was all of this enough to make me Moxie Fab?
.....well looks like it is!
..and here I am today being featured as Moxie Fabber Of the Week over at The Moxie Fab World.

Thank you so much Cath for considering me for this feature.

A super clean and simple card for Cath...

Time to share.....

Yes !
..I can finally let out one of my secrets that I had mentioned about in an earlier post...
.....have held it close to my heart for way too long( by my standards!)

I am now a Girl Friday at CAS-ual Fridays!

When Michele invited me to join her team,  I gave it  a full 5 minutes before I said 'Yes'!  Those five  minutes were required to calm my nerves and think about what I was getting into!
Joining her team would mean being surrounded by talent and awesome creations..was I up to it?  Up until now I was just another player , enjoying myself week after week playing along her challenges.
...once I was calm and less jittery, I decided to go with Michele's decision and hit the send button!
and then came the more difficult part of keeping it under wraps until today!

Thanks Michele for this opportunity, can't wait to start the fun!
....and congrats to the rest of the team!

And now coming to today's card..

Playing along with The Moxie Fab Wold's current Camera Craze Challenge.

After a long time I have used patterned paper on my card. I started with wonderful postcard paper by DCWV. It had Post Card written on it. So I started with that as my base and stamped the postal marks like the par avion, postage cancelled, date stamp, added a stamp sticker and the sentiment.

Since I just cannot call a card done until I do some kind of watercoloring on them , I decided to make two tiny little miniature sketches and adhered them using scotch tape. Also stamped and watercolored the camera and added that as the third most important element of the group.

Trimmed strips of red and blue airmail printed cardstock and added as a border.

Wow!...this has be the most detailed card I have done in a while now!

White on White

This is my second post for today..
click here for my Faber Castell post

A white on white card with just a hint of color...

Stamped and embossed using white embossing powder. Then went around the image with an inky finger using a light grey ink pad. Then added a hint of color with a pink marker and  finally stamped the sentiment in pink cause I felt black would have been a bit too harsh for this soft image.

A closer look at the image.. and how it shines against the light...

Papertrey Ink Anniversary- Watercolor

A quick post to share a watercolor card for Papertrey Ink's current watercolor challenge.

I used the Simply Jane Die ..again..can't help it , it's one of my favorites and I seem to reach for it the most!  I  cut the images out of watercolor paper and colored them using artist watercolors. The sentiments are from Movers and Shakers Sentiments.

I think it makes a wonderful anniversary or even a Valentine's card for a spouse.

A closer look at the images..

Papertrey Ink Anniversary-Sketch -3

This is my third post for today for my first PTI sketch click here
for my second post PTI sketch click here

I am really loving the sketches over at Papertrey Ink , in fact I rarely ever use a sketch , but this time around I enjoyed playing with them.
Here is take 3.....

Stamps- Papertrey Ink -Chair-ished and On my couch

I took the sketch and used just the general layout . I used  chairs which were kinda boxy looking  for my focal point , just as the squares are in the sketch.

here is the sketch..

I'll keep this post short , been playing around all weekend, gotta get down to some serious housekeeping now!

Here is  a card using another sketch by PTI...

Update- edited to add a better picture

Sorry for the slight blur in the picture , yesterday night I played around with the settings on my camera and am now struggling to get it right again , I must have clicked at  least 43 pics , all of them are blurred or underexposed!
.....got to wait for tech support (husband who is out with buddies for a movie!) to set it right for me!
..but waiting for him I would have lost whatever little light I had on this grey day,...oh well!.. the woes of a crafter!...

Here is yet another card where I have used a scrap piece of watercolored paper , if you are a regular on my blog , you would recognise it from this card here.

Since I do not have a Poloroid die yet , I decided to improvise and used  Framed Out # 1 die by PTI and the sentiments are from Half And Half and Happy Trails- PTI
 here is the  sketch..
