Thankful for you!

Recharged by the crisp Autumn air am back with yet another Fall inspired card .....
....this time around I went for a monochromatic look with a punch of Fall color.

All stamps are  by PTI  except the floral foreground( Joann's). I used a mix of watercolor pencils, spectrum Noir pens and  distress inks.

I was aiming for soft muted earth toned colors and am happy with the way it turned out!

The colors were inspired by Play Date Cafe#150

Finally Fall!

Yes it's here !
...and to celebrate the first day of Autumn , CAS-ual Fridays is having Fall fun and I am playing along with this card.....

The girl jumping amidst all those papery crinkly colorful maple leaves could just be me, I love to do that !. In fact every year we go for a drive just to see  the Fall colors  and here in the Midwest we are blessed to see a lot of them and I just can't resist playing amongst those leaves!  I guess nature does brings out the child in us!

This challenge had my head swarming with ideas and I think before the week is over I might be back with more !!!!...love Autumn ..my favorite season of the year !

I used Memory Box Twiggy tree die and a leaf punch from the craft store..I think it is by Studio G

Supplies; Sentiment stamps-PTI and watercolor markers

Deck The Halls...

As mentioned in an earlier post here an here  I am working on some watercolor holiday cards for a friend and as I had promised to share some along the way, am  back with yet another  Christmas card..

I have used a stamp by Crafters Companion- Sharing from the Adorables series and colored in with artist's watercolors. The designs are beautifully done by Jayne Nestorenko .

Sharing with Crafters Companion challenge using dots or stripes......am hoping the polka dots and stripes on the little girls counts.

I simply love their stamp sets..they are perfect for coloring  and remind me of those  bedtime story books I used to read as a child!

Also sharing with Simon Says Stamp challenge- put a stamp on it

No washi tape here but a lot of stamping!

Art Journal

Over the past few months I have shared plenty of cards with you all , today I decided to finally open my art journal in front of you all. This journal is my own secret  private space where I write and journal my thoughts and feelings ..no rules no deadlines and no design principles..it's all about being free and loose. I usually do just the opposite of what I do on my cards. I use  happy colors and go bold and bright.

I have a couple of journals , this particular page is about our smile and how much it can say and convey with minimal effort!

I have  drawn faces, zentangled ,stamped , washi taped, made some colored flowers using my new spectrum noir pens on this page with watercolors as my base.

Am sharing with Faber Castell- Take the challenge-

.....hope you all liked this aspect of my artistic journey ...because frankly I am truly passionate about  art journaling...... especially because I sit to make a page with absolutely no clue of where to start and no idea how it will turn out ..and when I finally finish , I surprise myself with the end result!

Fun and Funky!

I have finally got myself on the Washi tape bandwagon.....better late than never I guess!
..........after all the DIY washi tape I have made in the past , I decided it was time  to get myself the real stuff  and found some really cool ones at a Scrapbook expo over the last weekend!

Simon Says Stamp challenge has a fun Blog hop  and a challenge going on right now with some awesome washi tape inspiration .

here is my card where I let the tape do all the talking!

Washi tape with sentiments on it makes it an extremely quick and easy card ....

punched flower embellie.... made using Washi tape adhered to cardstock and punched using Martha Stewart punch

 Stamps: Inkadinkado

Inked the background ..adhered some crystals and doodled as a final fun touch!
