PTI-friendship Bracelet

This was truly camping style creation!
..no major jewelry supplies..just a simple rustic paper bead bracelet to remember this day!

PTI- beaded bracelet

While I was making this, I was reminded of a bracelet I saw recently at a craft fair , it was a wish bracelet made of simple cotton twine and just one tiny gemstone, one is supposed to wish for something and tie it on the wrist and when it falls of by itself , your wish will be granted!

PTI -stamp a faire Tie Dye Techniques

Now onto my next challenge..using tie dye techniques..
After watching the tutorials , and the number  of options  provided , I realised that every technique I tried to attempt , I ran short of some supply  like for the shave foam  technique, I did not have reinkers, for the dye ink pad  one , I had just one single blue dye ink pad!!!!

Well being a crafter , I decided to make do with what I had and used the single blue ink pad  and came up with this card and since we are already approaching August , I decided to do a Holiday card...

PTI Stamp A faire Homemade Embellishment

I took inspiration from Danielle again and tried my hand at Washi tape using patterned paper

.......wow! this is one of the coolest techniques I have seen and was so much fun!
I have tried making my own washi tape before using crepe paper and while that did turn out beautiful , this technique was by far faster and easier and of course instant gratification..thanks Danielle!

so here is my card....

Be You!

A quick post ......

I was immediately drawn to the angles in this  inspiration photo ,which directed the eye from the  bottom upwards, the platform or stage on which the model is standing made me want to create something with similar strong angles.....

Also the hot pink of the shoes and the curved shape with shades of turquoise on the dress guided the colors on this card.

Runway Inspired #16

I went with a strong graphic look for this creation of mine!

The pink felt is the same color as the shoes in the picture, unfortunately despite 80 tries , I could not get it on camera..well!!!!!

From This Day Forward.......

Today , I created a card just so that I could show the stamp set I used to create this winning card here..

I received  quite a few emails and comments asking about the stamp set I used for the sentiment, well the reason I did not mention it in my post itself was because it was a bad lemon!...

....ok let me explain..I got this stamp set at Target many many years back and around that time I was working on mine and a friends wedding scrapbook , excitedly I tore open the package and went to  peel a stamp off the acrylic and what do I see...the stamp refuses to peel and had stuck permanently to it  and so were the rest of the 11 stamps in the set!!!!!!

I could not return it since I tore my first stamp when I was impatiently trying to peel it off!..so it stayed with me all these years since I loved the font and size of the stamp and also because I am not the kind to throw stuff that easily!!!

So now I just stick it to my block with temp glue dot and use it .......Well since it did earn me my first Guest designer post over at CAS-ual fridays ,  to honor it I made another card today using the same stamp set for Play Date Cafe # 140

stamps- studio G, marcella k&Co, Inkadinkado

sorry about  the long post but I thought I should answer all those queries about the stamp in detail since I did not want to simply name the stamp set and run , also I don't think it's available anymore...for all the right reasons!

Tea!

I seem to love  taking inspiration pictures pretty literally !
This picture over at Embellish Magazine made me do just that !.

When this challenge got posted , I immediately knew I was going to use some tea bags on my card  which I had saved over some time, but when the time came to get started , I searched and dug through every nook and cranny to find those little treasures of mine , before it struck me that I had thrown them out during one of those " there is waay too much clutter in the house"  moments!!!!!

Ok, so back to the drawing board to figure out out a design without the tea bag...but no, I decided to wait , so brewed myself some tea , and let the bag dry in the sun while I sipped my cuppa and there we go, my bag was ready to go......

.................................and so is my card.......

The inspiration for the dried tea bag came from here ..lovely blog!

Applied a light wash with some fresh  tea on watercolor paper and inked the edges with Distress ink..

some ribbon and orange felt ...

fussy cut a tag for the paisley...

 stamps- Studio G and PTI.

I am truly pleased with the old and vintagy feel it has....well it was worth the wait!

Hoping this counts as a hello card and sharing with Moxie Fab World - hello card challenge
