I Miss You!

This weeks PDCC# 129  inspiration photo has such rich and saturated colors that I just could not stop at one card, so I made another ..this time around I kept it true to my style of CAS and used one of my most loved techniques apart from stamping of course.... paper piecing!

 Play Date Cafe PDCC#129

When I saw the inspiration picture, I fell in love the with chair and the floral image on the wall, it exuded calmness and simplicity, and that is exactly what I have tried to achieve with this card.

Sometimes all we require is a tiny little word or sentiment, it conveys so much more than an entire speech!

A Gardenful of Sunshine

Spring is here !!!!
our weather  is getting better by the day and soon we shall have a gardenful of sunshine and birds and butterflies!
Our bird feeder has been filled to the the brim and this afternoon we got to see a tiny little blue bird , followed by some yellow Finch , who unfortunately got bullied away by the wild Sparrow!

Well ! here is my afternoon on a card!

This weeks Cas-ual Fridays# 50 wanted us to celebrate Spring with some trees or flowers on our project , I thought why not  show some of both !

Am so impatient to plant my impatiens !...but have to wait until our official last frost - Mother's Day....!!!!

Thank You!

Only one good thing can come out of browsing the net for hours together, instead of spending your time more productively creating something ....you might just find yourself a new blog with a new challenge !!!

That's exactly what happened this morning, I found myself a new challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook, the inspiration photo is so happy and  summery , that there were tons of ideas jumping in my head, but I guess I shall have time for just one  card , before I run to finish my weekend errands.

The first thing that jumped out of the pic was the green plate setting and I just had to recreate it ..so here we go..

Celebrate Every Day!

The light airy feel of watercolors  is the single most reason why I return to them time and again, it"s the only fine art medium which gives me instant gratification , the strong pigmented colors make ever stroke of the brush a painting in itself!

When I saw that watercolor butterflies  were Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them , but since I had way too much going around in my part of the world , I gave up the idea of playing along , until I saw that  the deadline was extended for another week ..yippee!

So I set to work late last night and could not wait to click pictures this morning. I kept the card very clean and simple and simply showcased the organic splash of watercolor with just a single butterfly and a sentiment to go with the natural theme.

The above version was my first attempt , unfortunately the sentiment went crooked ..so made another one !

Zen Doodle

What's a girl out of town, away from her precious craft supplies, looking at all all the lovely challenges on the laptop  supposed to do??
.........DOODLE!
Yes ! that exactly what I did for the past couple of days that I was out and about ..I doodled , since that's all I had on hand..a micron black pen , a sharpie fine point ,a sketch pad and some watercolor markers and here is what I came up with...

I was so inspired by the pictures of the spectacles on The Moxie Fab World-Spectacular Spectacles challenge , that I doodled and zendoodled and zentangled so many spectacles , I was pretty close to making a spectacle of myself!!!!!

Once I was back I added the sentiment and a bit of stamping and called it done.

I chose the colors based on ColorQ challenge# 133

Enjoy The Ride!

Chevron here ..chevron there..chevron is everywhere!!!!!!
 Can I be left behind......???
  NO!

So here I am with my chevron card for Embellish Magazine's latest challenge....soft sober colors, understated, yet a card that says a lot...

There is a challenge over at the PTI forums for us to  try something new..so here is my attempt....

This card is a first for me in many ways...the  PTI blooming buttons stamp set is seeing ink for the first time, rarely use buttons..in fact I got this stamp set just so that I could get my buttons out of the dark!..even the background stamping is pretty new to me.. the colors are subdued and soft which I rarely use...all in all  it was a lovely  attempt ..enjoyed myself mixing all these elements  together.

Ok ! so my buttons are showing up bluer than they are, in fact they are a pretty aqua blue -green......no clue why my camera's  choice of color is different than mine!

supplies: White , pink cardstock, Stamps: PTI, chevron-Inkadinkado, watercolor markers, twine, buttons

Silhouettes

This month's  Paper Crafts Connection  April Gallery challenge  is about silhouettes and this one comes at a perfect time for me because I have been busy as a beaver making these masculine cards which I never seem to have enough of. I made a couple of  sets for gift giving with different sentiments ...this particular one is for Fathers Day...

 Flickr -

supplies: Kraft, white Cardstock, Stamps- Ditto, Dies- PTI - Simply Jane, Frame -Colorbok

After the card was done I looked at it long  and hard and declared I had created a card fit enough for Sherlock Holmes himself!!!!( doesn't it have a mysterious feel to it???)

I love the tall hat, stylish pose and the "Gone With The Wind" feel this silhouette has, reminds me of the last scene in that movie where Clark Gable walks out of the house to a grey misty evening leaving Scarlett behind..hmmmm....ok!   now I must go watch it again..perhaps my zillionth time!
